תמיד שנאתי את קובי בראיינט. כמובן שהשנאה הזו נבעה מקנאה, מההתמסרות הטוטאלית שלו, מהכישרון הענק, מחוסר פחד, מהיכולת לנחול כישלון ואז לעורר הרים מתוכו את המוטיבציה בעוד דרגה. בעונת הרוקי שלו למשל זרק בראיינט שלושה איירבולים במהלך משחק. למחרת הוא חזר לאולם וזרק לסל כל היום. פשוטו כמשמעו. ממש כל היום. שם גם נוצרה האגדה.

בסדרת הגמר של שנת 2000 הוא ניצח את הקבוצה שאני אוהד, אינדיאנה פייסרס, ושבר לי את הלב. במופע בלתי נשכח, בהארכה, לאחר ששאקיל אוניל יצא בשש עבירות, הוא ניצח לבדו את משחק מספר 4 שהיה המשחק הקריטי. השנאה שלי לקובי הפכה עם השנים להערצה ואמש לכאב גדול.
